DIY - Dollar Store Fall Wreath Tutorial

October 09, 2020

Hello, Hello...

I love wreaths, there aren't many things as gorgeous as wreaths to decorate the doors, porches and walls and this fall, I made these beautiful fall wreaths fully from dollar store supplies and am sharing with you all the steps in this post.

Gather your supplies:
  • Pliers
  • Scissors
  • Cutter
  • Burlap
  • Pool Noodle
  • Flower Wire (or any thin wire)
  • Ribbon
  • Dollar Store Wreath base
  • Glue gun
  • A bunch of decorative flowers, leaves, berries & Pine Cones
    • You want colors that have harmony but
    • variety of shapes and sizes and textures
Process:

  1. Remove the existing not-so-pretty decoration off the wreath basket and break off the hanger, as we will be covering everything and make out own hanger on the back, rather than on the top.
  2. Cut the pool noodle lengthwise in half and keep in place on the back of the wreath, inside the dent / hole / cavity 😅 and secure with wires or threads
  3. Wrap burlap around the wreath, overlapping each row to make sure nothing shows through.
  4. Use your glue gun to secure the burlap edges in plae
  5. Add your decorative flowers on the top where ever you want.
  6. I used the ribbon to create few loops on the back back of my sunflower
  7. Then added more matching flowers on each side of my central flower and kept going till my whole wreath was covered
  8. Used the glue gun to stick leaves and pinecones on the wreath
  9. For flowers you can just poke the stem through the noodle, however
  10. I suggest, securing everything in place with glue gun after you are happy with your arrangement
  11. At the end, with another piece of wire, simply poke through the wreath and bring the wire to the back, then twist and create a loop to hang your wreath.
  12. Hang it on your door and enjoy it.

HERE is the video explaining the whole project in details.

If you liked and used this tutorial, share with me what you made. I would love to see your creations.

Happy crafting :)
