Bead bracelets are pretty and very fun to
make. There are lots of different ways to make them; some require lots of tools
and jewelry findings that I usually don't want to spend money on. In this
tutorial I'll show you how to make a beautiful bracelet with only a few items.
This is how the finished bracelet looks:
You will need:
- Knotting cord or any kind of craft cord
- Beads, the hole size should be a bit more than double the size of your knotting cord: my knotting cord is 0.5mm and beads hole size 1.3mm
- scissors
- (optional) Jewel-it glue or a lighter
Okie, lets get started:
1- To measure the length of the cord that you need, wrap the cord twice around your wrist loosely and cut.
2- String the beads on the cord. Number of beads you'll need depends on the size of beads and how long you want the beaded section to be. String a few and wrap it around your wrist to see how many more you want. I needed 9 of my beads.
3-Make sure you have same length of cord on either side of the beads and tie a simple knot to secure the beads in place.
4-Wrap the cord around your wrist, and tie a knot on either side of the cord (pic4).
5-String a few more beads (pic5)
6- Now you want to take the other end of the cord (A) and string it through the beads like the picture below:
Lay your bracelet flat and make sure it is big enough for your hand to go through the loop.
7- Tie a knot, string one more bead and knot again. (pic7)
8- I tied two knots after my last bead and to secure the knot I added a small drop of Jewel-it glue.
Any glue would work as long as it dries clear or you can melt the end with a lighter.
